Ethel is my current writing fixation. Although she is a meek housewife (at least at first), she keeps knocking on my skull, letting me know that she's there and needs her story to be told.
It revolves around her marriage to a man named Harry, whose wife had allegedly left him a year ago. She moves into his large victorian style home, but things begin to seem more sinister until Ethel grows brave enough to look into the attic.
From the top to the bottom of the pile, these are my writing projects, all in different stages of gestation.
- Green notebook: Ethel - 1950s reimagining of Bluebeard.
- Brown travel journal: A Fable in Neverwise, my children's fantasy.
- Blue notebook: my cosy speculative fiction on a family of witches.
- Decorative notebook: A story on a family who have moved into a haunted house. Much like Ghosts.
- Bottom two brown notebooks: Left Bleeding. All you need to know is feminist werewolves.
